study this situation:
Lobar is in her car.🚗 She is on her way to work.💁🏻
Lobar mashinasining ichida. U yo’lda, ishga ketyapti.
▪️She is driving to work. 🚗
U ishga mashina haydab ketyapti.
This means: she is driving now, at the time of speaking.

Bu shuni anglatadiki, u hozir, gapirilayotgan paytda mashina haydayapti.
This is the present continuous tense:
I am (=I’m) + driving
he / she / (it) is (=he’s etc.) + driving
we/they/you are (=we’re etc.) + driving
We use the present continuous when we talk about something which is happening at the time of speaking.

Biz hozirgi davomli zamonni gap aytilayotgan paytda sodir bo’layotgan narsalar uchun ishlatamiz.
Misollar 📋 Examples:
— Don’t make so much noise. Karim is sleeping. (not Karim sleeps)😴
Ko’p shovqin qilmang. Karim uxlayapti. (Karim uxlaydi emas)
— (at a party) Hello, Zufar. Are you enjoying the party? 🕺🏼💃🏻
— (ziyofatda) Salom, Zufar. Ziyofatdan zavqlanyapsanmi? (Ziyofat yoqyaptimi?)
We also use the present continuous when we talk about something which is happening around the time of speaking, but not necessarily exactly at the time of speaking.

Biz shuningdek hozirgi davomli zamonni gap aytilayotgan vaqt atrofida sodir bo’layotgan narsalarga ham ishlatamiz, ularning aynan gap aytilayotganda sodir bo’lishi muhimmas.

— Arina and Sabina are talking and drinking tea in a café. Arina says: «I’m reading an interesting book at the moment.» ☕️ 📖
— Arina bilan Sabina kafeda gaplashib choy ichib o’tirishipti. Arina aytyapti: «Men ayni paytda qiziqarli kitob o’qiyapman.»
❗️Arina is not reading the book at the time of speaking. He is in the middle of reading it.📖

❗️Arina gapirilayotgan paytda kitob o’qigani yo’q (u kafeda Sabina bilan gaplashyapti). U kitob o’qishni boshlagan va ayni kunlarda uni o’qiyapti.
— Jo’rabek is learning English at the moment.
— Jo’rabek ayni paytda ingliz tili o’rganmoqda.
🔰 We often use the present continuous when we talk about a period around the present. For example: today, this season etc.
